Hi! My name is Andrea Adams and I'm an Art Education Major (P-12) at Eastern Kentucky University. I plan on graduating in the Spring of 2008. I enjoy art and I love studying it. There are so many different aspects of art that interest me. I'm currently learning how to paint, and I think it is something I will continue to do after the class is over. Art is not something that everyone enjoys. I believe many people do not enjoy art simply because they have not been exposed to it. I hope to educate children in art and spread the interest of it. Art is not about just looking at paintings, sculptures, etc. Art encompasses several different genres including the visual arts, drama, literature, and music. Through learning about art, at a young age, children are more conscious of and understanding of different cultures, and this enables them to communicate with others better. And often, by learning that information through art, they are learning in a fun way, which also enhances the learning experience. Without art, this world would be a very dull place.
